Posting for Apollo

This month I’m travelling the first two weeks, so the I’m keeping this short, sweet and to the point! It’s been a quiet month so there isn’t much to say :)
  • Register for the Forums! It’s fast, easy, and best part? It’s FREE!
  • Ever think about volunteering to help with the site a few hours a week? We are accepting applications!
  • Moderators: Staff vs User
  • Current PayPal Balance is 733.50
  • Clean Up Status
  • Archive Moderation Status
Over the last month or two, I’ve noticed an uptick in the number of guest postings on the forums – Everything from fiction searches to technical support requests. For those of you using it as a guest, I recommend taking a couple minutes and registering! Why should you bother you ask? Because there is so much more!

You know that fiction you were searching for and posted about? Forget to check back to see if anyone found it? If you registered, you can set it up to be notified when there are new posts to the topic!

Wish you could respond to a reviewer? Come on into the forums and start a review reply thread!

Never mind that there are many forums that are not accessible to guest posting! Same thing with our Shoutbox – You need to be a registered user. Come hang out, bounce ideas off other members in real time, discuss insane off the wall topics, or pretty much whatever you like! You’ll often find myself and other staff members there as well, so it’s a great way to grab us for a quick question. We are a friendly bunch and always willing to talk!

As the site grows and we continue our code re-write, we find the task of moderating the site becoming more and more time consuming! As a result, we are currently accepting applications to join our moderating staff and clean up crew. Interested? Read on!

Our moderating staff has always worked well together, so it’s important that we have the right people and personalities. In order to keep the harmony and cohesiveness we currently enjoy, the application process will be a multi-step, intensive process. First, please send an email to admin@adultfanfiction.net indicating your interest in joining.

At that point, you will be emailed back an application – This is just like a job interview, so please make sure you put your best foot forward and read the instructions included. We will be accepting applications through April 20th. From there, DemonGoddess and I will review the applications received to determine who we are interested in moving on to the next step. If chosen, you will be given further instructions. I look forward to reading your application!

While we are talking about our moderating staff – Please keep in mind that our moderators are not just moderators, they also use the site. They write stories, read stories, review them etc. My staff always takes great care to separate themselves from professional duties when playing on the site as a user. To that end, we have an account specifically for moderating. When you see a review from one of the moderators under their own account, please note that this is their personal opinion and in no way affiliated with the site at that point in time. They won’t point out ToS infractions, etc.

Along the same lines, please do not take your frustrations at being warned about a ToS violation out on their personal accounts. They are just doing a job, and while you may not like it, we ask that you not take your anger out on the stories that they pour their heart and soul into, just like you do yours.

Moving on, once again, please don’t forget to donate if you have the means to do so. We are nowhere near done with our code re-write, so funding is always appreciated. Our current PayPal balance sits at $733.50. Thank you to all those this month who have donated!
